Additional Services Offered by Insite Care and Transitions
Faith is a big part of many people’s lives. If it’s a part of your loved one’s life, we believe that prayer and devotions are healing forces and are welcomed during our sessions. Our staff will participate or lead, if necessary, your loved one in prayer and readings. Faith isn’t a one-size fits all belief, we are open to all religions and beliefs. If you’d prefer, we will not encourage prayer during our sessions. It is up to you and your loved one to provide us that direction.
Too often, holidays can be a lonely time for long term care facility residents. It is often
unsafe to bring a resident to the family for celebrations and it can be difficult to bring the family to the resident. We know that it is never your intention to leave your loved one out of the festivities, but sometimes it happens. Insite staff can celebrate the holidays with your parent or spouse! If your mom loves Easter, we can do an Easter Basket for her. If Dad loves Christmas, we can do a small tree in his room. Maybe Grandma has the tradition lighting of the Menorah, we can help her with that too. Decorated doors for Valentine’s Day with a card to display, Shamrocks for St. Patrick’s Day, Sparklers on the 4th of July, setting up an in-room picnic for Memorial Day and Labor Day, Jack-O-Lantern’s and Turkey’s in the fall, there is no holiday too big or too small for us to celebrate with your loved one. We pay particular attention to Veterans Day and are happy to thank our service men and women and their families for their sacrifices.
Everyone deserves to have their birthday celebrated. It’s the one day a year that you don’t have to share with anyone else! Insite will provide decorations and a balloon for each resident on his/her birthday at no extra charge. If you would like to provide a cake or other treat, our staff would be happy to deliver it to the nursing home or facility and share in the celebration of life! When possible, we encourage you to Skype with our family advocate and your loved one so you can wish them a happy birthday in person!
